From Your Fields to Their Future:
WCCF's Gifts of Grain Invests in Local FFA
We are proud to announce the awarding of grants to local high school FFA chapters, reinforcing its commitment to agriculture within our community. These grants were made possible through the generous donations of local farmers to WCCF’s Gifts of Grain program.
From classroom resources and equipment to innovative project funding, these grants will help empower the next generation of agricultural leaders.

In 2024, WCCF, with the help of local agricultural experts, established its Gifts of Grain program. The funds raised through this program are donor-directed – where our advisory committee provides feedback and direction – all to benefit Wyandot County. WCCF’s Gifts of Grain program continues its mission to strengthen the local agricultural community and invest in future generations.
Hard work grows more than crops...it grows community.
What is Gifts of Grain?
The concept is simple: Farmers donate grain - ideally 100-bushel - to WCCF through their local elevator and take advantage of the tax benefits.
With guidance from a dedicated group of Wyandot County agricultural experts, WCCF is identifying the most meaningful ways to reinvest these donations back into local agriculture.
On January 25, 2001, a group of dedicated Wyandot County citizens held the very first meeting of WCCF!

Join our 100 Bushel Club!
Simply donate 100 bushel of grain this harvest season, and you will be added to our exclusive 100 Bushel Club! Your donation is uncomplicated way to make a big difference - by directly investing back into Wyandot County agriculture.
We are so grateful to our farmer focus group who has worked diligently with us to form our Gifts of Grain program!

Wyandot County Community Foundation Announces Organizational Changes
Wyandot County Community Foundation (WCCF) Board of Directors recently announced several organizational changes at their Annual Meeting. Jean Gottfried stepped down as President, and Randy Brown was appointed as incoming President.
Gottfried has played a vital role in the expansion and success of WCCF since she began her tenure in 2011. She will remain on the Board and serve as an active member of several committees.
Brown joined WCCF in 2023. A Wyandot County native, he farms with his son Kyle. He has served on the Wyandot Popcorn Museum Board, the US Pork Center of Excellence Board and the Ohio Consumer Council Governing Board.
WCCF Board also promoted Erin Smith to Executive Director. Smith has been with WCCF since February 2024. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Findlay and has a background in technical writing and office administration.
At the Annual Meeting, Dan Harris, Jerry Taylor, Jr., and Elaine Tschanen were voted in as Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary respectively.
WCCF is a public charitable organization created to enrich the quality of life for individuals and families in Wyandot County. WCCF’s impact is measured in scholarships award to deserving students, grants that support the needs of local non-profits and overall leadership in the community.

area farmers to better reach the agricultural community. Join our
"Gifts of Grain" program, where farmers can donate bushels of grain
to WCCF with the intention that it will ultimatelv benefit the
agricultural community.
A SIMPLE PROCESS...

Deliver your grain to the elevator of your choice.

Ask the elevator to transfer an amount of bushels to WCCF.

WCCF will sign off on the transfer and collect the proceeds.

WCCF will send you a transaction report for your records.

WCCF Provides Grants for Local Fire Departments
Pitt Township Volunteer Fire Department was awarded a grant from WCCF to provide all department personnel with their own fire-compliant light for their turnout gear. Chief Josh Morral reported that all 20 firefighters now have the lighting that they need
Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department was awarded a grant by WCCF to replace the batteries in their automatic CPR devices. These batteries are costly and only last for 2-3 years before needing replacement. Assistant Chief Josh Riedel says, “(With the grant)…we have replaced the batteries in service on our first out ambulance. The machine has been used multiple times since in cardiac incidents and has been vital in the success of bringing better care to our community.”
WCCF is proud to partner with both fire departments to support their missions to protect and serve our community.
WCCF SCHOLARSHIP: A MEMORIAL TO A LIFE OF PURPOSE
The Tammy K. Clifford Memorial Scholarship was recently transferred from John Stewart Methodist Church to the Wyandot County Community Foundation. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide educational assistance for Upper Sandusky High School graduates who have financial need, average or above academic achievement and involvement in extra- curricular and/or community activities.
The saying in Tammy’s photo “The purpose of life is a life of purpose.” speaks volumes of the person Tammy Clifford was. Throughout her short life, her purpose as a mother, community leader and friend shined brightly. Her energy, enthusiasm for life and strong work ethic made a difference in the lives of everyone she met. She was a wonderful mother to her sons Cody and Trevor and became
active in all their school and sports activities. She served as President of Upper Sandusky High School Academic Boosters, President of Upper Sandusky Youth Baseball and a member of the Upper
SanduskyHighSchool Athletic Boosters, where she organized the annual Ram Rumble. With the creation of the Memorial Scholarship,
her life of purpose will continue to shape the of lives of Upper Sandusky students.

Select a local charity that is meaningful to you or your loved one, invite friends and family to make memorial contributions to the fund, and your loved one’s name will be permanently acknowledged for this generosity.
